Sources have intimated to The Political Eye that Azimio
Running Mate Selection Panel had said Karua is rated highly for the position.
The panel had also interviewed governors Charity Ngilu
(Kitui), Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru) and Wycliffe Oparanya
(Kakamega) for the running mate position last week.
Others are Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege,
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and former Emgwen MP Stephen Tarus.
And on Sunday, Raila assured the crowds at Kamukunji Grounds
that he will unveil his running mate today at the Kenyatta International
Convention Centre (KICC) from 11 am.
"Nimeangalia hali ya anga na nataka kuwaambia kwamba
kesho saa tano kule KICC nitatangaza," Raila said.
Karua had received backing from a section of Mt Kenya
leaders and women leaders across the country, who said that she was best suited
for the job.
