In announcement that caught his close competitors off guard on Sunday , Ruto said Gachagua has been his loyal supporter and number one disciple of his economic agenda commonly known as bottom up economic.
Gachagua ,who has a bachelor Degree in Economics and Political Science acknowledged Ruto 's appointment and pledged not to let down Kenyans when he occupies the office in August.
Those Kenyans who have worked with Gachagua described him as a no nonsense ground mobiliser and astute debate inside Parliament and outside.
Gachagua,63, came to Parliament in 2017 and between year 2001 and 2006 ,he was the Personal Assistant to current Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
On the other side , Gachagua, who is a billionaire in status has several court cases over crimes of money laundering and mismanagement of Constituency Development Fund in his constituency.
