Wednesday, April 5, 2023-Nandi County Senator, Samson Cherargei has slammed opposition leader, Raila Odinga for trying to sabotaging his deal with President William Ruto by introducing new demands.
In what can
be termed as a surprise U-turn, Raila Odinga on Tuesday said he wants the talks
between him and Ruto to be outside Parliament and mirror the National Accord of
2008.
But commenting
on Twitter on Tuesday, Cherargei who is a close ally of Ruto said that Raila was looking
forward to history repeating itself.
"Tinga
(Raila) is hungry for power by saying that National accord like 2007/08 be done
outside the constitution & parliament," Cherargei said.
Going
further, Cherargei said that Raila who lost the 2022 presidential elections
should understand that the olive branch extended by President William Ruto was
not based on his demands but he kept Kenyans first.
"Tinga
(Raila) lost the 2022 polls, the olive branch extended by H.E Ruto was not out
of fear or caving into his unrealistic demands of powersharing but about
wananchi," he added.
