Speaking on
Tuesday, Wetangula, who is also the former Bungoma Senator, said it is myopic
for Raila Odinga to call a dialogue with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance
administration yet he doesn’t recognise Ruto as the President.
“There is
no problem in talking but Raila Odinga must recognise the legitimacy of
President William Ruto’s government before we sit down and talk. If you say we
are illegitimate then we have no business talking to you,” Wetangula said.
On Sunday,
President William Ruto agreed to have talks with Raila Odinga and on Monday he
met a group of Kenya Kwanza Alliance lawmakers led by National Assembly
Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwah who will lead a team that will negotiate with
Azimio team.
