Thursday, October 27, 2022-The newly sworn-in Interior Cabinet Secretary, Prof. Abraham Kithure Kindiki has sent a special message to President William Ruto moments after taking an oath of office.
Prof. Kindiki was among 24 Cabinet Secretaries who took oath
office in a ceremony at State House graced by President William Ruto on
Thursday.
Commenting on his social media after the event, Kindiki, who
is a former Tharaka Nithi County Senator, stated that he will not disappoint
Ruto and he will protect Kenya's boundaries.
"Took the solemn oath to Serve Kenya, uphold the
Constitution, and promote the public interest in securing our Homeland. Looking
forward to joining the Team at the Ministry of Interior & National
Administration," Kindiki wrote on his Facebook page.
Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, Outgoing Interior CS Fred
Matiang’i has reportedly handed the powerful office to Kindiki who many Kenyans
are hoping will reform the corrupt Kenya Police Service and other security
agencies.
