Saturday, December 17, 2022-Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged President William Ruto to follow in the footsteps of late former President Daniel Moi.
Moi, who ruled the country with an iron fist for 24 years,
died in 2020 aged 95.
Speaking at Kabarak University, in Nakuru County during the
18th graduation on Friday, Kalonzo called upon leaders to follow the second
president's footsteps.
The Wiper Democratic Movement party leader praised Moi for
heavily investing in education.
“Mzee Moi was God-fearing, true patriot and educationist per
excellence, passionate about every child going to school to get an education. I
urge leaders to emulate Mzee Moi to keep this country intact and spur
development," Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo's statement comes days after former Prime Minister
Raila Odinga opposed the move by president William Ruto to form one party
terming it as an archaic move introduced by dictator Moi.
Raila has been against the introduction of Moi's ways of
ruling and he has been terming him as a dictator who should not be emulated by
any national leader.
