Sunday, April 2, 2023-Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has been encouraged by President William Ruto to end the demonstrations.
In his Sunday address to the country from State House
Nairobi, the President declared his willingness to dialogue with any leader.
“In order to engage them as an opposition and us as a
government on topics that are significant to Kenyans, he continued, "Our
attitude is that we want to engage our brothers and sisters on the other side
But he insisted that the discussions must be founded on real
considerations rooted in the rule of law.
He stated, "My door remains open for real, impartial,
and truthful discussions based on the law and the Constitution."
"I beg Raila and the opposition to end the protest and
adopt a bipartisan strategy so that we can move Kenya ahead."
In line with the requirements of the legislation and the
Constitution, he recommended a bipartisan discussion in Parliament over the
IEBC panel's reconstruction.
