Monday, December 19, 2022-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said former President Uhuru Kenyatta is free to join the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government once he resigns as Azimio One Kenya Alliance chairman.
Uhuru is set to resign as Azimio chairman and concentrate on
peace-building in the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).
Speaking on Monday in Nyeri County during the launch of the
Open-air market ICT infrastructure at Dedan Kimathi University, Gachagua used
the occasion to welcome Uhuru to President William Ruto’s fold which won the
August 9th Presidential election.
"Azimio imesambaratika si mmesikia hata Rais wetu was
zamani anatoka Azimio na tunamkaribisha hata tumehuzunika Rais Uhuru akiwa huko
hakuwa na biashara Kwa Azimio hata yeye tunamkaribisha kama ameona huko Azimio
si pazuri arudi nyumbani," Gachagua said arousing crazy cheers and
applause from the residents.
Gachagua further called on Uhuru to accept working with the
government because the Azimio Coalition has been weakened by President Ruto and
will not defeat the Kenya Kwanza team in the 2027 general elections.
