Monday, October 31, 2022-Former Nairobi County Governor, Mike Sonko has said President William Ruto’s administration is planning to arrest former Director of Criminal investigations (DCI), George Kinoti over serious crimes he committed during his tenure as the country’s top detective.
Kinoti was
appointed DCI boss in 2018 and his 4-year tenure was marred with extra-judicial
killings, political interference, blackmail and all sorts of crimes.
On Sunday,
Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP), Noordin Haji put the last nail in the
Kinoti’s coffin after he said he forged evidence to fix Deputy President
Rigathi Gachagua in the Sh 7.4 billion corruption case.
“On DP
Gachagua’s charges, the decision was made on the threshold. We were pushed by
DCI himself through the media. We felt there was sufficient evidence to charge
but later we discovered the documents were forged," Haji told KTN sultry
presenter Sophie Wanuna.
Commenting
on social media on Monday, Sonko said with all these allegations, Kinoti will
be arrested soon
"Nikunoma Kinoti Atashikwa ,"Sonko wrote on his Facebook page.
