Friday December 9, 2022-Last week there was drama at Harambee House, Nairobi after a top police officer collapsed when meeting President William Ruto and Interior Cabinet Secretary, Prof Kithure Kindiki.
According to impeccable sources, Deputy Inspector General
Edward Mbugua passed out when meeting Kindiki at Harambee House and Ruto at State
House.
Miriam Muli, who up until her appointment served as the
deputy inspector general of police's primary assistant, has taken over from
Mbugua who has been granted a medical leave.
“He has been showing up at work, but not yet. Like on
Tuesday, December 6, he arrived at work during his regular hours,” said a senior officer aware of Mbugua's illness
Inspector General of
Police Japhet Koome, who is currently abroad is aware of Mbugua’s illness and
has instructed Miriam to take over from him and ensure the National Police Service
runs smoothly.
